49 Lisbon Street 2

Located on the second floor of the iconic Lyceum Hall building, this awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind condo is a masterwork of historic preservation and contemporary living. Designed by Charles F. Douglas -- one of Maine's preeminent architects of the post-Civil War era -- the building was fully restored between 2007-2013, and this 5,500-square-foot industrial chic residence is among its finest expressions. Accessed directly from the lobby via secure elevator or private staircase, the entire home unfolds on a single level. Two primary suites, a third bedroom, a dedicated office or den, and a sweeping front-to-back kitchen, dining, and living room strike a rare balance: unmistakably current, yet steeped in historic character. Original tin ceilings, wide wood floors, ornate moldings, and exposed brick walls set the tone, while replacement arched windows frame elevated views at every turn. For those who love to cook and entertain, the commercial-grade chef's kitchen -- anchored by a sixteen-burner gas range -- rises to every occasion, whether hosting twenty or cooking for two. Above it all, an expansive rooftop deck with a private hot tub and enclosed lounge area owned by this unit offers a front-row seat to the balloon festival, summer fireworks, and the city lights after dark. Close to restaurants, shops, the riverside trail, and Central Maine Medical Center, with a 30-minute commute to Portland. Leasable garage parking is available around the corner, with basement storage rounding out this remarkable offering.
